55mm aero wheels are great if you like riding fast and if you want to do the odd time trial or triathlon. They are a wheel rim you can use in most wind conditions but will still give you the aero advantage that we all crave off now. Once you’ve gone aero, you can’t go back.

Our Aero wheelset is new for 2019 and take our fantastic FL series rim and makes it lighter, around 100g per wheelset lighter. Now, who doesn’t want lighter aero wheels? We took the weight down by using a Toray T700 and T800 carbon fiber mix, instead of the sole T700 layup in our FL series, and analyzing the layup so we could lose weight but not stiffness or our aero shape.

Our Aero wheel rim then is tubeless ready, fast, stiff, and super light. Then we added a final property that we think would appeal to everyone we added affordability. We want to build the best aero wheels in the world, but we also want you to be able to afford them and pay your rent this month.

As this wheelset is super fast, we also looked at improving slowing you down. The new brake track profile on the Aero series is tolerant to 300 °. That is an improvement over the 240 ° that was the FL series standard.

We then worked on our sealed bearing hubset. We looked at our CAD files and worked out where we could lose weight but still retain strength. We even managed to lose two spokes from the front wheel and kept the same stiffness, it now has 18 instead of 20. We succeeded, and this is why we offer this wheelset with a two-year guarantee.

You might then be wondering how we join our hubs with our Aero rim? We use the best spokes in the world. We use Sapim CX-Ray. These spokes are super light, and thanks to their butting pattern are still super stiff, perfect for our aero wheelset.
